Has anyone else experienced problems with both the chainbrake band and spring snapping on their MS260?

Gone through about 6 of each, either self or dealer fitted. No more than light/average chainbrake use either.

Maybe I've just bought a Friday afternoon special?

(CHAIN BRAKE BAND)

MARK IT COULD BE CAUSED WITH APPLYING THE BRAKE ALITTLE TO SOON..

(MAYBE WHEN THE REVS ARE STILL HIGH) ??????????

AS TO THE SPRING>>> NO IDEA:confused1:

i go through a lot of chain brakes, if you use them a lot they will go, but they are only a couple of quid, cheaper than a leg. But if you dont clean them out crap gets stuck behind the band and wont help matters. My mate gives me a hard time because i am so sore on them, thats why i dont like top handles, if you get kick back while working one handed you cant engage it. but some will say if you use any saw one handed this is the same

Maybe you have a slight bend in the crank. If someone else has used it and run it on a tight chain, when it cools down the chain contracts which can bend the crank. Sounds hard to believe but its a possibility.
