'Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone. Now they got the whole country sectioned off, you can't make a move without a form'

I used to think like this ... but a day involving great TEAMWORK i think is one of the best feelings you can get in our industry

How many claims have you made?

Personally none on my PL (luckily). But all insurance companies don't just pay out without checking certain things given each situation.

I don't see how we are on page 3 of this discussion.

Its a fact that you run a risk of your rendering your insurances pointless in situations where you are not adhering to rules and regulations that govern what you are doing

jeez.

Nah sorry. I have worked where the risk assessment and all types of beurocrasy was rife. In the utilities industry! Leyburn lad will back me up when I say yeh it seemed like a load of bollocks, BUT if you took on board what was been said AND actually put it into practice there would be no accidents ever again. I fully believe that every accident is preventable. How that pans out in day to day, dog eat dog, real life is different. But hand on heart, every accident I have seen and or experienced has been a result of an unsafe act of some description and as for the red tape? You gotta be qualified....what's wrong with that? If it where that easy to be qualified everyone would do it and the very qualification would be worthless. Risk assessment, within reason and being sensible now, what's not to get on board with? Taking a couple minutes out to brainstorm what could go wrong and formulating a plan not to get hurt ?? Checking your life saving equipment and potentially dangerouse machines to ensure you have not overlooked something serious but simple that could keep a son or daughter with a dad? I agree that it is tedious but would I seriously argue against it? No!

just honestly think this, hope you get me on some level.

Do you know anyone who has had a claim denied due to some rule breech??

The same as... If I crashed my vehicle and it had no MOT they wouldn't pay out for my claim as the vehicle wasn't conforming to rules and regulations.

Even if you have no MOT, they HAVE to pay out the losses to the 3rd party. And as we all know, an MOT is not proof of roadworthiness anyway.

Picture says a thousand words and what I think. Was there with wife who wouldn't of made it to the first limb and a 70+ Aunt and uncle. I posted this before on a thread about freeclimbing, where many of the posters climbed for fun.

FUN: A dirty word from bygone times when people did things because they knew they had capabilites and they wanted to use them. Before everything was disapproved of and off limits.

Do firestations have stairlifts now instead of the firemans poles?
