Dean,

must be some kind of cheap time recording sensor you can install in the direction of where the thieves are going, see if there is a pattern in what time and day they are visiting and then stand and wait.:sneaky2:

I've got one of those wildlife cameras you strap to a tree and it senses movement and take a photo, can take them and store up to a months worth.

Only thing is it flashes so would have to be out of reach.

I could get the MEWP out and strap it to the basket 60ft straight up

This is the jobby http://www.sherwoods-photo.com/bushnell_trail_cameras/bushnell_trail_cameras_fs.htm

I was thinking more on the lines of putting that rolled barbed wire all round like the stuff they have on borders with a buffer zone inbetween. Anyone caught in the "Death Zone" gets interrogated, tortured and a bottle inserted where the sun don't shine and released naked and bound in the middle of town, with I'm a robbing barsteward felt tipped on his forehead and "I'm free" wrote on his buttocks.

"I'd go and sit with the shotgun and frighten the barstewards to death but it's knowing what time and day it's happening to avoid being sat about for hours on end every night"

I really wouldn't write that on a public forum or you may not be keeping your shotgun or FAC. I know someone on a shooting forum I use who lost his license after similar remarks were seen by the police FAO.

Alarm mines are the way forward perhaps even what you suggest but no need to broadcast it.

If that happened to me the Police would lose all respect I have for them and I would probably emigrate to somewhere that takes care and respects it's citizens rights to protect themselves and their property.

i can feel a phone call coming on

I,ve got signage up bob, saying theives will be prosecuted and I've had the police up once who said they'd keep an eye on.... never saw them again, just give you a crime number and disappear.

Only thing I can do is make the new yard really secure and hope they don't clean me out in the mean time. I stopped putting up fences and gates when the land swap was suggested so never got secure. No point spending all that money to give it to the scouts. :bored:
