I have always wanted a ferret. I went out ferreting once when I was 11 but have had nothing else to do with it. Is it a best to keep a few ferrets or can you get away with just having one ?

You want 2 really as they tire easy and will have a kip in the warren.Alternate between the two, dont feed them on bunny as they will kill and stay below.

How do you avoid feeding them on bunny, is this about the time of year you put them down the hole?

I feed mine on beef mince and the ocassional woodpigeon so they dont develope a taste for bunny. Before you go pugging give them a very small meal so they are not tempted to kill and lay up. Not to much though or they will have a kip and you,ll spend the next hour or so with a spade.

Im going to have a think about getting a couple what should I look out for ?

I think I would like to do purse netting.

Hard to say,I,ve only had my two jills Jalalabad and Taliban. A knowledgeable friend took me to a good breeder. If you do get some build a nice hutch and run in the shade as they overheat in the summer. We have two big hutchs and a large wired in area all connected with pipes. Most importantly handle them every day when they are young. My two will eat from the same bowl as my Jack Russell, they are that tame.
