hey guys i am leaving nz to go do a bit of work in germany. my boss purchased a tree motion for me just over a year ago and i cant bear to part ways with it. I am going to ask him if i can buy it off him when i leave and have a price in mind but id like to hear from fellow arborists as to what price you guys would consider to be reasonable.

What condition is it in? I wouldn't have thought that he'd have a problem with you buying it. Do you have a decent relationship with him?

You've no doubt turned over a decent amount of work in your time with him.

He may even give it to you as a going away prezzie

Beat me to it Andy lol. I wouldn't just take it though.

Aren't they fairly expensive over there? I'd offer him a token gesture, If you say he's a decent bloke I would doubt that he'd take it anyway. But I agree that you shouldn't just have it away.

i didnt mean just help youself, I meant if I was his boss, and we had a good relationship, and the harness was 18months, I would say he could just have it as a token of goodwill. Does that make more sense???
