Regional rates

Is anyone currently/recently mobile between different regions in the UK?

 

Is there a marked difference in charge out rates between North/South/East/West? If so, do you notice a difference in running costs as well?

I don't think their is a big difference in regional rates, and running costs definatly aren't any different accross the country.

 

Obviously firms running in London and the home counties charge a bit more.

 

IMO the difference in pricing occurs between the small firm with 2 blokes and a Transit and the larger firms operating with a lot of kit, office ,industrial unit, and several men..

i disagree lee....i dont travel too far afield but i can get far better rates 30 miles down the road, and not only that, the type of work you can sell can vary a lot too

So you think the area 30 miles down the road in general pay better, or is it in your case the company in question has a first class reputation and can charge more?

dont you yhink its often what your doing that gets you more money ie if you take a tree dowwn they seem to be getting more for there money than a bit of a reduction

I disagree with the rates bit, too. You can ask a lot more in certain greener and leafier areas on the outskirts of bigger towns and cities.

 

And the running costs vary, too, depending on where you are. I can still get diesel for less than £1/l in Notts, but where I live, it's £104. And in Lincs, and any other rural county, you have to travel a lot further on average to get to the jobs, because it's so sparsely populated.

Thats what you pay when you live the stix mate, it isn't cheap for us rural folk
