So then ...

I'm not normally one to stay out of some good old arbtalk 'discussion' but on this occasion I am taking a step back from voicing my opinion and possibly hiding behind a cushion :001_tt2:

Massive waste of money?

Worth every penny?

Whats your opinion, discuss

...all I'm saying for now is that I'm sick of the news talking about it every single bloomin day, you can talk anything to death!

Well Will, Here's a dig for you :sneaky2:

Why start a moaning thread about wall to wall coverage.

now you are as guilty as the media of talking it to death.

Because Arbtalk is a public community of professionals that work alongside each other and I was interested to hear their opinions much like I'd discuss it with my mates down the pub :sneaky2:

Clue is in the title, if you don't want to be part of a moany thread then you are under no obligation to read/post.

But surely if its in another country there are still costs. Someone has to pay even if its another country? And then our athletes have to travel so that costs money without there being the benefit of extra visitors to our country.

I am sure we have all (mostly) enjoyed many many Olympics over the years, so for it to continue each country takes its turn and now its ours. It wont be again for a very long time, so in the history of the Olympics the expenditure is very minor.

Yes it may have come at a bad time but it can still do a lot of good for the country, epsecially in Jubilee year when a lot of eyes have been on us already, we should be pleased and proud to host it.

Sorry Will, the clue was in the title - I shouldn't have posted.

Anyway, as your thread has asked my opinon, here it is:

I think this is a shameful thread, populated by a load of shameless posters (except those on Rupes list and Rupe himself (AND Tommy B of course :001_cool:).

Just my opinion though :001_tt2:

Pretty sure it was your view on the olympics that the thread asks not your judgement of peoples responses :001_tt2: (Don't take offensive I'm just winding you up now haha)

No worries dude, you won't wind me up.

In its defence, the thread is worth it simply for the clip of Michelle Jenneke!

What a wonderful smile, and truckloads of confidence.

THAT is why the Olympics is a good thing- inspire a generation:thumbup:.
