When climbing sappy trees or Seqoidendron giganteums i would use a cambium saver at top and carry a few over long prussick loops with 3 way twist lock binas each and try to keep rope off bark , and use an extra loop in my prussick when only on my camium saver ( due to so little friction ).But u can change that as friction builds up through running the rope . The same techinque can also be used in some nasty bits in all other works .

i take it you are using the standard prussic as your friction hitch... i would try a different knot.. i use the super happy.. it is amazing!! doesn't Bind up after long time under weight!!

and is Basicly a pleasure to use!!

coupled with a camBium saver and your ave got yourself a decent set up.

college is like your driving test.. they teach you how to get By.

as above statements about cambuim friction/saver, you defo need one full stop.

not everyone going to agree with the next bit:

firstly if you can climb anything, and know your rope, friction hitches and the amount of sap plus weather conditions. You can redo you knots to compensate, the last scots pine I worked on, I only had one wrap on my distel hitch, the sap was great for holding me in place:laugh1:

the link shows a happy. i was under the illusion that an extra rap was then a 'super' happy but i think it may be called a distal.. either way i find it to pretty dam good. got it as a knot on my side strop as well. done well with minimal slack it has a lot less 'sit back' than the vt.
