Hi guys, does anyone here have an alpine tractor.

Looking for input and advice, i have always went for the biggest thing i could afford but i really fancy one of these wee tractors. I would love one of the articulated ones with the back body. I was out in Italy this year(Barga)and firewood is there way of life, i couldnt believe where these tractors had been going.:001_smile:

Hi Stevie,

As Matt said, I used to run a 48 hp Carraro in the woods with a 3.5 tonne winch and little forwarding trailer - used to run it along side the county 1164 with roof mount and between the two machines could cover most sites. Used to take the carraro places I wouldn't dare take an ATV and it was only on fairly narrow wheels.

Since stopping working for myself I now work for the UK importer of the Carraro tractors so if you've any questions just let me know :001_cool:

I bought one a year ago, a 50 hp bcs, its very good for small sites, I have a loader with a grab and a 42KN winch for it, It goes on a trailer behind the landy legaly too. Its funny though , I'm now looking at getting the sort of kit you have, I'll keep the alpine though.:001_smile:

We have had an 80hp Vithar (BCS) for nearly 5 years and its a top piece of kit.

We use it for winching, cultivation with our stone burier, flail mowing, have put a post knocker on it and also use a single furrow plough on it for hedge cams and trenching out for newt and rabbit fences etc.

All in all, its a veritable workhorse.

I also recommend giving the lads at Kilworth Tractors, Ashby-de-la-Zouch a bell, their after sales service is top notch.
