To be fair we are probably 4/5days off starting yet, barley is nearly ready and then OSR will be at least 2 weeks off and wheat probably 3.

I did knock some grass down tonight as well, hopefully can make some half decent haylage in next 3 days

Some of the local dairy farms are on their 3rd silage cut already. The river has really put some good silt into the root systems. Chatting to one of them last week this will be his last then he will let it just grow wild so he can get a hay cut.

There's has been 2nd cut here but dairy producers looking for high dry matter are waiting for weather window. Hay crop, talk about ambitious with this weather!

The fields of rape around us are browning off nicely. the winter wheat and barley is ready to go. Just waiting for the beans, spring wheat and barley and the poppies (opium popies too). Got hay crops ready to be cut next week. Going to be very very dusty with all the river silt in the bottom of the grass.

You have wheat thats ready? Surely not!

That was my thought about the wheat. Either you planted way early or you are in a different country to the rest of us.

I miss driving the tractors at harvest. Would love to get back into it again. Plus I could bunny bash at the same time.
