Srt

Recommended Posts

what dbrt gear do you not need in srt? apart from a pulleysaver/ropeguide i still use virtually all of mine. jus' sayin'...

my opinion is that SRT is brilliant but so is DbRT-they both have there place and different trees will warrant using a different technique. i think its detrimental to think that one solely replaces the other.

I reckon SRT looks great if you're on a big tree and have all day, but for dicking around in a small one for 20 minutes, nothing beats throwing a rope over a branch and tying onto both ends.... spoken as someone who only uses Ddrt!

Ive just turned to srt and im still using my Marlow gecko rope with a vt, just added a rope wrench and a pantin :001_smile: works good for me, once you get a couple of metres up where your rope tends through your pantin its so awesome, or you get your groundy to hold your line down for the first bit just make sure you dont kick him in the face :sneaky2:

im against base anchors for work positioning- i think they open up more dangers than benefits. i prefer to just choke it athe top of the tree using a running bowline, locked off cambium saver, a rossilock or similar.

But if you do want to base anchor you can just running bowline, petzl RIG, ISC scarab, fig 8-the list is huge....
