Wll thats one way to freak out. Since the 200t is the most used saw at any one time that must cause the most damage.

When blocking or snedding you never use the mid saws big saws for more than 20mins well i dont.

I guess the trick is more tea breaks lol.

  • 9 months later...

Just a word of advice form one who's been told by one who knew.

My dad had the operation done and the only bit he regretted was having both wrists done at once.

I don't know if he'd had a heavy Guiness session or what, but he managed to pop some of his stiches after "tidying" himself up one morning in the loo.

Just a thought, don't know how understanding and helpfull your girlfriend is. ;)

just have the operation done. piece of cake i had it done some 5 years ago. never had problems again. don't have injections and prolong the suffering. just make sure you have the operation in the summer and enjoy a month off.

i got too say that cut on your arm looks more painful to me than the operation. when i had it done i got in the hospital at 9 am and was home again by 12 am. and i still climb everyday now and use the stihl 88 on a regular basis without ever having problems.

good luck with it anyway

I ve been reading this thread with interest as I had similar symptoms.

I had been getting pins and needles in my left hand occasionally, it could last anything up to 3 or 4 days then nothing for a few months, nothing major or painful, but it had been going on for about a year. Then in august last year, it came back and stayed  Within a month, my hand muscles were wasting away, the pain creeping towards my elbow. I ended up have x-rays, MRI scans, electric pulses sent through nerves etc

I had a "start at the elbow and keep cutting till we find the problem" operation in march this year. I have a 9" scar on the inside of my elbow.... serious pain at the time, my whole arm turned the colour of an aubergine!! and i still struggle now as nerves take a long time to heal and my hand and arm are still very weak, but I would recommend it everytime! It has been a long recovery but i dread to think how long it would have been if it wasnt acted upon quickly :scared1:

the reason for my problems..... I had just changed jobs, starting as an agricultural contractor, using different muscles, which as the grew began pressing on my ulnar nerve :blushing:
