Our call out is built into a term contract, its about £90 an hour from when we get the initial call for a 2 man team.

We don't take the chipper, just a 4x4 with saws etc and cut and stack, doing minimal works to make safe, re-open road etc.

Private work gets less priority unless cutomers will pay on completion, they want you there straight away so they can get out of the drive etc.

Then when you give them the bill a week later they start arguing about 'how much' and 'how long' you were there.

lets just say it is definatly not worth it

just part of the job

we actually get Less than normal rate

i take mine as time off in lieu

Ar mate that sucks, you should get standby money, and then double(I'd want triple) time with at least 4 hours of pay no matter what the job.

A bleedin plumper on call out will get better pay.

At least your keeping the public safe :001_smile:

Are you on a retainer in the contract to be availiable at all times? Shouldnt the price per hour start from the point of call out rather than when on site at your "at work" from that point?
