Big advantage that i can see is the continious pull . The ones over here ( look identical to ones shown ) dont do this but are only about £20 quid or something . Only downside is that they can be fiddley to release under high tension which is where the tirfor types always win , but for lightness , cost etc they are good . :001_smile:

They have these on sale in Aldi at the moment, £9 .

Is it online? I can't find it but then the site doesn't have a search facility.

Best bit of kit you''ll buy. Had one for the last few years. So light you can use it in the tree! It's not a tirfor but winches alot faster and a hell of alot lighter. I definitely use it more than the tirfor. I use 12mm three strand from honeys cheap but effective.

Buy one!!

By the by if anyone finds where to import them from without getting hammered on delivery do please tell.

Seconded. Went onto Amazon the other night: the kit...$38. Delivered to my door... £99!

I had a thought the other day. If I took the steel cable out of a Halfords puller and replaced it with 3 or 4 wraps of the right thickness rope would that work as an endless rope puller? I'd need to tend the tail to maintain the wraps but I wonder...
