Any of you guys with an Alaskan mill in or willing to go to the Chobham area in Surrey?

Cut up a windblown oak the other day and the client wants it milled.

It's not very accessible, so can only be done with an Alaskan (i think)

Cheers.....Al

There's a fella on here from Guildford with a portable mill who goes out on a day rate, not an alaskan and can't remember his name though, so I'm rubbish really

How big is it and what's the cutting spec?

Alec

The biggest bit is 2 1/2 - 3 ft dia and 10ft long plus a couple of smaller sections.

Client wants to mill it to get timber for shelves and a bench.

I'll pass on the contact number if you are interested.

That's a fair amount to do into fairly thin boards with an Alaskan - quite a bit of sawdust on that one!

There should be someone closer, but if not I could possibly do it as it's about an hour from Mum's place.

That's a slightly more comfortable size. If there really isn't anyone closer who wants to do it, I'm happy to discuss it with him.
