Is that a typo?

If not, i will gladly drag brash for you!

There's a difference between a groundie and brash dragger...... :001_huh:

£140 for a good groundie with rigging expertise and a good eye for a reduction is fair.

£80 for someone to drag brash back and forth is fair.

:)

Ok to all the pedants that took my description of a groundy a bit too literally...

I would happily fell trees, rig branches, sned, chip, drag, eye in reductions, bring a flask of tea to share, buy cakes, give the climber a foot massage, stand with arms crossed talking to customer whilst climber sweats etc etc... All for £140

That's what a good groundy does, am i right?

I've only been a groundie for 3 months and I am paid a different day rate by different people. The first guy I worked for was paying me £80 a day and all I did was chip, refuel his saws and tidy up. I work for a friend of mine who has his own business and I fell small trees and chip, again for £80 a day. The guy I'm currently getting a fair bit of work from pays me £50 a day but I'm hedge trimming, felling, chipping and he's offered to teach me to climb. Whilst he isn't paying me as much as the others I'm gaining more experience from him and learning more. He has told me he will pay me more as I get more experience which I'm happy with, the way I figure it is as a groundie you get what you deserve.

Should never cross your arms when you are speaking to the customer, Alex
