Rope knick

Hi everyone as im new to this site just wanted your oppinions on this little nik ide found in my rope,seems to be on the outer sheath wondering if it will get bigger under load ?

I noticed it to day as i was checking it from using it yesterday, is this nothing to worrie about am i beeing over vigulant .

Just melt the end with a lighter. It should be ok. I have had ropes pass Loler with worse.

I have a worse nick in one of my lines, three adjacent strands completely cut is a LOLER failure.

Use a small pair of scissors to trim it, bad idea putting a heat source next to line as the heat may do more harm than good

So how do you trim your rope and seal it? Holding a lighter to singe a loose braid is not going to do that much damage to the structural integrity of the rope IMO.
