Slowly building up i am doing at least 1x 8-9mile run a week and several shorter runs at pace.

 

Doing the cheltenham half in september and aiming to really break pb.

 

Chris you are doing real well. Bet you have dropped weight too. More i run i am basically vanishing. Lost a stone and a half

Been on the bike quite a lot the last few weeks, building the mileage for last weekend's Way of the Roses trip with some pals. Lovely route if you get the chance.

Not had the time/oomph for too much running.

This was my call to get the running shoes back on. Legs took a bit of adjusting to lack of pedals!! Managed a 9-miler. Thanks to CM

There's definitely a threshold I seemed to have to reach to be able to actively enjoy the run, rather than just survive a plod round the streets. Distance-wise you probably have to be able to manage a 4mile run from our house to get off the streets and into more interesting territory. Once I was up to that (it took a while) it was a bit easier to improve because the routes were more entertaining- trails/ farmland/ hilly bits and nicer surface/views. Be good to try a beach too. :icon14:

After my last post of being a smart arse and saying I hadnt been broken, guess what? I broke slightly. Had major tendon pain behind me knee so rested up for a fortnight. Finally felt good enough last week for a trial 2 miler, and yesterday managed my 19th half marathon of the year with no pain from it at all. That'll teach me to keep the gob shut!

If anyone is interested this is my Facebook page covering the whole challenge. People are more than welcome to run with me. I sometimes have to run alone and at silly times of the day due to time constraints but sometimes i'll advertise on the page a time and a route which encourages people to come along. They are never fast, but will always be 13.1 miles or more, and sometimes end up quite far off the beaten track! Based in bishop Auckland so they are mainly in and around that area, especially Hamsterley Forest which is fantastic for running through.

Epic effort!!

 

I am now regularly running 6-9 miles with min 9 miles in saturday morning.

 

This week i dropped below 14 stone. Gf says its falling off me and keeps feeding me! But i guess it works cos i am faster and stronger than ever. Even doing pull ups now. So nearly ready for mudrunner oblivion
