Great that it's working well.

Long term reports are really useful.

So what would you change on it?

The only things I've had to tinker with are the stops on the back of the control arms or whatever they're called - they are supposed to stop the lift bar sliding off but being just rubber tits kept coming off. 2 x baby jubilee clips - problem solved for good. The original chain was too thin so I put a thicker one on.

The splitting stroke is arguably a bit slow but it has power aplenty and sycamore et al pops open at the slightest press.

Can't really think of anything else.

Ditto the above.

How much did it cost?

Bit over £1500 at the time but think nearer £2k now ???

My friend bought a 12 ton electric one 2 and a half years ago and we had to modify the stops as well but apart from that no problems whatsoever, apart from the fact it weighs a ton so is difficault to move around.

It will split rings my Palax KS35 processor wont!

I have the same machine, and its done me proud! had a slight problem with a cracked ram, but was replaced free of charge, and the only thing I would like is ,bigger wheels , and faster ram speed, it currently splits 1m3 in about 40 mins! depending on size of rings. very reliable splitter, mine has done over 600 m3

Hey TCD, does the weight of the splitter make it hard to move it around your yard? Im looking to buy one and the only problem I can see with it is that its going to be a nightmare moving it, our yard is pretty muddy which wont help either.

Thanks Sam

I am blessed with a mirror finish flat shed floor so movement is a p.o.p

True on rougher ground it will be much trickier. You need to have the ram

fully up, stand behind it and tilt it back and walk. Weighs best part of a quarter

of a tonne so best to work round the splitter. It's mobile yes but solid build and

easy movement don't go hand in hand often.
