The New STEIN PHANTOM Chainsaw Boot is manufactured using the highest grade of PERWANGER Leather. This premium silicone impregnated rough-out leather has been manufactured in the Southern Tyrol region of Italy since 1780. PERWANGERS special process makes their product extremely water repellent whilst still remaining breathable. This leather is the most durable available and is made from the corium, the strongest part of the leather. STEIN has also introduced WINDTEX into the PHANTOM which is a heat-regulating membrane which is windproof, waterproof and breathable.

Through constant product development the STEIN PHANTOM is 15% lighter and more flexible than the orginal Stein QUEST but retains all the same features

PHANTOM Standard Features:

  • Class 1 (20m/s) Chainsaw Protection
  • Waterproof Windtex Lining
  • Heavy Duty Vibram Sole
  • Steel Toecap
  • Rubber Rand Protection
  • Roller Bearing Eyelets
  • Produced from Perwanger Leather

just like meindl airstreams, they all seem to copy a good boot thats on the market and sells well ,looks a good boot

They are nothing like the airstreams...I have both. And the reason they look like other boots on the market is because...well ermm they are boots

Ive been wearing these for a few months now and im really pleased with them so far. There was no breaking in period like the previous version which were considerably stiffer. Really good soles for branch walking too. If these prove to be durable aswell then i reckon Stein are onto a winner with these. I'll write a more detailed review when I get the time.

Steve how do they compare to Clima Air Zermatt GTX boots? I have had these for a year and there is now no grip on soles anymore..shame really as they have worn in good and are comfortable now. Looking for a new boot thats similar to these but not as stiff.

cheers
