We rolled up at the customers house at 8am and got them out of bed! They'd assumed we wouldn't work in the rain!! Just a small willow to re-pollard, a crown lift and a dead wood, once your wet, your wet, and no work no pay!! Stopped for an early lunch to get out of the rain and it stopped, only to start hammering it down just as we went back to work  Can't wait to get my soggy climbing kit back on tomorrow!

Been clearing this "garden" of sycamore for a week now and soaked through every day of it, but happy to work through the fairly heavy showers.

Today was fine until 10, when somebody opened the barn doors and the rain came out horizontal. We just looked at each other and headed back to the pickup for coffee. Lost 2 hours, but at least it brightened a bit after lunch.

Fingers crossed tomorrow won't be stupidly wet like today.

1 dry day,yesterday tues 24th) in the last 8 working days :(

Tadpoles swimming in my groin today amidst my own newt :D

Going to update the weather thread on news of a far more settled, and dare I say it, warmer and drier May  courtesy of us coming under influence of a Ridge to our NE (North europe/Scan area) but also threats of thundery incursions out of Biscay and Western France for some lively good old fashioned thunderstorms! but warmer at last, soon as Sunday for SE regions with the warmer air feed spreading N & W albeit with further heavy rain prior to the pressure build Monday/Tuesday.

We took a soaking yesterday afternoon. Didn't help I'd left my waterproof trousers in the landy, which was back at the yard :blushing: Don't mind the rain too much but once it's soaked into me boxers I get grumpy :laugh1:

Last week was rough with us though. All I can say is it's been Cumbrian

Had the last few bits to get felled and forwarded out on one job and travelling through the wood became almost imposible which meant going along the field sides opening and closing several gates each way

We've done work on that site over most of the last year and it's never really been a problem with it getting wet. Usually it dries out within a day or so - the last two weeks it's all changed.
