Was dissapointed with the 346XP as it revved well in the cut but wasn't digging in as it should, I have found the bar rails were a little splayed so have closed them up and sharpened up the chain, should work a lot better now.

 

Steve. Don't forget to try your 346 with a shortish bar 13" or 15" and an 8 pin . The one you did for me works well like that . Razor sharp chain also !

 

I have sort of got this one boxed off, I am trying a few B&C options and will be back plus I ripped as much of the baffle plate out of the 357 that I could and will retune to see the effects:thumbup:

Pretty conclusive, just measured the cuts and the last setup was around 15% faster than the earlier ones. Pretty much supports our logic, just need to mod that oil pump and we will be there:thumbup:

no mate the part one 1 and part 2 was quicker i cant remember the name of the bar and chain i told u it about a week ago on the phone matty

diffrence between part 1 and 2 is 7 and 8 pin sprocket

me and spud have done alot of research on diffrent bars chains filing angles etc

 

i think ur 560 might be getting nervous :lol::lol:shaking like a 046 with no ant vibs

i did manage to but the ported 357 that im buyin off spud through some 20inch wood and i was well happy

it was running at 15100 rpm at one point :lol:

Not read every post on this thread, but followed it a while back. When cutting logs for firewood using a husky combi gauge with the roller on, I use the soft(wood) file hole for setting the depth teeth on my standard 357xp. Even though its on hardwood, it copes with ease. Just wondering if you performance obsessed boys do this or would gain 0.0001 second doing it.
