Unseasoned firewood

Keep it simple and affordable to your customers, id say £50 cash per trailer load and try and get 3 loads out per week. This will give you £600 per month which in real money means payments on a Rnge Rover Sport Woop Woop!

that must be the best ever advice offered on arbtalk !

I have a small pile of willow, pop and conny lengths in the yard. "Mates" are very welcome to help themselves but they must transport it, use their own saw and fuel to ring it, split it and store it for seasoning. It is a genuine offer but one that no one has taken up yet. It just helps them 'see' where the value of firewood actually is.

Okay if I come and collect a couple of loads with my forwarder

Reversing a trailer takes a bit of learning, I learnt on a Fordson Dexta about 50 years ago with no cab. It was raining, not hard but hard enough, I was not allowed to come in untill I mastered it !!. That did not take long.

Shove it into low range and follow the trailer, sounds stupid I know. You might find it easier to fix some poles to the rear corners of the trailer so that you can see where they are. Rear vis in a Defender is not great !!.

springs are fine honest , theres 6 leaf springs ethier side, thou i had it on its arse full of block paving once, opps.

It didnt take long to cut and split , maybe i should flll a bulk bag first to get an idea of exactly how much it can hold , maybe i am going to rip myself off ?

it could be holding 2 bulk bags for all i know. To be honest ive had a few time wasters . but it will sell . got about 10 trailer loads so ar as i keep loads for myself. plus a canny few large beech takedowns on a woodland im managing.

most treesurgeons i know of just give it away with there chip , now thats ripping yourself off.

i will measure trailer correctly and work out the metres cubed spot on for better idea
