Swampy is dead mate.

 

Apparently he had some serious heart problems.

 

But he refused to have a bypass.

That's a classic mark !! Lol

 

I had not used a saw shop in 4 years before I trusted spud to do mine, he had some right pitas though!Don't know what I'm going to do with the the 560 ... There is a good husky dealer about 30 miles away I suppose.

I wonder if the ecu type thing tells if there's an air leak?

 

The horror stories of one shop !! I was given a £300 + vat for a 200t and I only asked him if it was economical to repair I'm sure it was just the carb.... No it needed a rebuild because the pre filter in the carb had blocked and caused it to run lean, because I had not cleaned out the air filter like all tree surgeons was his reply.

1. I cleaned the filter daily.

2. I had checked and cleaned the pre filter (small metal gauze)about two months before so it was spotless.

I told him to keep the saw as it must be worth £300 now and take the price of a new one when he sold it... £250 was what I got for it ... Would not trust or buy any gear off that guy again.. There's more story's like this but I can't be asrsed to type them.

There are two fuel filters going in to the carb, the one in the tank and the gauze one in the pumping section of the carb, both will be blocked by dirt in the fuel and NOT by not cleaning the air filter.

 

A dirty air filter will richen the mix (less air getting through), ingress of fine dust will wear/mark the inlet side of the bore.

 

The guy should have got his facts right:001_rolleyes:

 

My brother has had the same problems at the same dealer, funny that I have had both his pole cutters in recently for repair!
