Right just spoke to the local bearcat dealer and a set of 4 reversable blades and bolts are £182.19 +VAT. I was asking about the anvil and he said that this model dosn't have an anvil just the four blades and that the blades must be uber sharp with the correct pitch to get it to create the self feed action im looking for!!? He also said most small gravitey fed chippers have one or two larger blades combined with an anvil as pointed out in earlier posts but this four blade setup works very well if not better but requires more maintenence. He went on to explain at great length about how the blades are offset so that the whole surface area of the flywheel exsposed to wood/brash will be chipped on contact as appose to the anvil design where he said you often find a sweet spot ie the bottom right corner of the chipper chute!!!?? It seems to make sense but by the time i put the phone down brain matter was leaking out my ears LOL What do you guys think??

What he said.

The only hassle with this design is that it's fiddly to set up the blades. Other designs mean you just bolt the blades on and go.

However, once you've done it three times you'll be slick.
