Ok Update on the Big ol Cauliflower. Not sure of the root plate going to find out today hopefully. Unfortunately her mycological masterpiece was riddled with maggots, woodlice dirt and so many pine needles eating it proved to bit a bit of a non starter.

 

I did offer though and i'll eat most stuff.

Probably a good challenge for washed up celebrities in a certain aussie jungle.

 

I can tell you that they are delicious though, we've had them in the past. I think you can cut off pieces and shallow fry them in a tempura batter. w/chilli sauce Delicious.

 

I think she's got the grid reference for this one so we'll get it a bit earlier next time . ha ha

Nice one chicken of the forest tastes great get a good few over here in germany I just luv it

 

hate to be anal about these things but....

 

laetiporus sulpherus is "Chicken of the woods"

Grifola frondosa is "Hen of the woods"

Sparasis crispa is "the cauliflower fungus"
