Powerball gyroscope

I have just purchased a Powerball/gyroscope just for the novelty factor really after having a go of a friends.

Apparently they really strengthen muscle fibres and are used by sports people and such to rehabilitate muscle, tendon, ligament, and injuries.

They are quite addictive and really get your arms pumped to the point where you have to change hands.

I am hoping it may help me strenghten/excercise my wrists/ elbows and relieve some of the pain i get from holding big branches with one hand as i cut them and prusiking.

Ill let you know if i think it does any good in a few months, and wonderd if anyone else had tried them ?????

 

ps i know i shouldnt be holding big branches with one hand

i'v got 1 and love it!

Used to get bad pain in my right elbow, the powerball didnt get rid of it but raised the pain barrier to the point where a normal days work wouldn't hurt it anymore.

We've got one of the very first ones from when they came out ages ago! My best rpm is over 13k. Took some practice! Not been able to get much over 10 for a while now. Lost the string too but can still start it with a good flick!

Realy good bit of kit, i had 12 weeks off with a tendon repair and it helped get my grip back on!

Surely your arm gets enough exercise at the bar. Try alternating the glass from left to right hand.

whtas the idea behind them, i've seen them in the shops but never seen anyone use them. how do they work.
