If your on orange with your phone, ring them and ask to add an iPad to your contract, no deposit or money down :-)

Granted I'll pay more in the long run but If you want a 3G one, you need a contract anyway.

Great for work, with an app like Docs to Go you can do just what you require.

You can also do quotes etc. on the iPhone but it's not as easy. I tend to prepare everything on the iPad, send it as an email to the outbox and then drive through McDonalds for a coffee. It sends all the emails before I've been served, lol!

Getting really busy and thinking about getting an IPAD for work.

I do most of my quotes by email and could do with saving time by knocking a couple off at lunchtime.

How do they work? is it similar to a phone or do i need wifi spots?

Any good business apps?

You don't need an expensive iPad for this. A clutch of top shelf magazines should help.

Seriously though. All you need is an iPad 3GS if you want the quotes to go out immediately.

Alternatively, just get an iPad WiFi and your quotes will be held in the outbox until you get home. As soon as the iPad comes into range of your WiFi router theyll fly.

Lol. I has that coming!

Like the Mcdonalds Idea. More excuses for a burger.

What about Pdf files, microsoft word docs.. Is it similar to a laptop?

You had that coming...? Most lunchtimes by the sounds of it.....................

DON'T BOTHER. Trust me they are crap. You don't get word docs and the like as it's not a Microsoft make its apple. I got one I'm using now and it's crap. All it's food for as surfing the web.

The only way I can do proper emails is to do a draft on my pc save it to outbox, then I can go on iPad and use the draft that way to make an email.

I use a three sim card from Argos and top it up like a mobile with my bank card.

If you can go tesco they have them on the shelf that you can try. If not find someone with one and try it out. BUt try it out in a way that you would at work. Not just play with it.

I wish I had saved some money and got a decent laptop.

If you buy an apple device why on earth would you want to use Microsoft software with all the problems they bring?

You can get pages on the Aye phone, save a template quote, modify and send as a PDF.

+1 to that!

you dont buy it to use it as a desktop or microsoft PC, so why expect it to run like one?

an ipad makes my life a lot more convenient.
