Timberwolf TW150 brakes

Hello all;

The brakes on my chipper keep sticking on when towing - to the extent that the wheels lock on and skid and jump around behind the truck.

I have had the wheels off and cleaned and adjusted the brakes pads but the problem still persists.

Is the next step to replace the cables or do I need to adjust them? If so any advise how best to do this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

prob the cables are worn out my old trailer ones did the same they have a nylon coating on the inner cable when this wears through they rust and start to stick. plenty of oil or if they have grease point s on will work for a while if there not to knackered

Check through the whole system. The gas damper in the tow hitch maybe loosing its effectiveness thus allowing the brakes to come on too quick and skid/bounce. The cables may need replacing if the have a kink in them, try to dribble oil down the outer to see if lubricating them helps or just replace them.

Then re-adjust them in the approved manner so that the drum/shoes are centralised, then road test again!

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice so far people.

Monkey business - no problem with the power of my 110. It's the skidding noise of chipper tyres coupled with the squealing noise of Land Rover brakes scaring the bejesus out of cyclists, small children and animals thats the problem!

Cue anti Land Rover posts!!:biggrin:
