Noob Needs A Chainsaw.

Generally there are two types of protective trouser/chaps.

 

Design A which is allround protection- generally for off the ground use

 

or

 

Design C which is front protection only (obviously chaps fall into this category) which are designed for ground work.

 

Personally although I don't climb I have the best protection I can get, so use all round protection for ground work.

 

Design A is just front protection

 

Design C is all round

 

?

Chainsaw is ordered. Will be here on Tuesday hopefully.

 

I've got my helmet, gloves and thick trousers. Stihl gloves though as the Husky ones were too big.

 

Chain files.

Is the diameter of all chain files the same or it it different for different "standard" chains? (If that makes sense). :blushing:

there all different

 

1/4 picco = 1/8

 

1/4 =5/32

 

3/8 picco =5/32

 

.325 =3/16

 

3/8 =13/64

 

.404 = 7/32

 

That according to the piece of paper printed by Stihl
