that well in how dod they get it out and what was it doing lol

As far as I know it was tracking across a field to get to a worksite - and it is still there although now lost to sight.

Happened in Somerset so maybe someone on the forum has better knowledge than me - I came on it on the construction equiment forum.

I tink most of my moss would not be as deep? as it was mostly "cut-out" for peats, before being abandoned and finally planted with forestry.

There is however a couple of places where , when i was getting a sheaugh dug deeper, I asked the diggerman to try for a bottom, out of pure curiosity.

The dipper arm on the 10 tonne Hitachi was not long enough however.

Yet there is a new house built not 50m away, where the peat was only knee deep, one soon larns to take nowt for granted:001_rolleyes:.

Furthur into the moss there is an "island" of dead sand and gravel.

Bloody Galciers got a lot to answer for.:laugh1:

Cheers

M

PS

Currently on the scent of either a 174 or a 274 MF crawler either of which should a tad lighter to extract than the 10 tonne odd of the TM155.

I believe that machine was abandoned in an RSPB reserve after the Insurance had paid out and a recovery was likely to cause too much damage?

Diggers and soft going is my game and not the sort of conditions to take lightly however much experience they can catch you out!

Regarding the track marshall, surely a pretty big donk for tricky going and certainly wouldn't be on my list?

However there is a beauty lurking on the P.V Dobson website that would be simply perfect?

Hmmm,

Yes I am aware of that particular one, drawn to my attention on the farming forum, I actually intended to type 294 instead of 274 in my post above:blushing:

Probably my best bet but a kinda of a pity to bash thon lovely fresh paintwork offen trees, niver mind the glass.

I described it as "tractor-porn" to the wife.

What really want is a rougher/ cosmetically scruffy but sound/ low hours 294c:lol:

With wide tracks and a front mounted hydraulic winch, & oh a wee dozer blade would be nice as well.
