sounds like you have found the right balance for your zone then, not too cheap not too dear

hope dean finds his balance soon, cos he was a right miserable sod last time I saw him and I was so looking forward to having a banter with him!

was like someone had kicked his legs out from under him, think we should all get him wasted at the show this year!:laugh1:

I'm just glad he did not do the climb comp, to be beaten by a "MEWP man" would have ruined my day

Lot of good posts on this thread,

Going one step further, for me making money out of cutting trees is only one thing, the other and for me more important thing is what you do with it once you have it.

An old boy told me about 15-20 years ago "you've worked for the money and now the money must work for you", apart from making a living and reinvesting in the business, I have invested considerable amounts in 6 specially chozen shares which I have reseached to death, although one can never really say for sure what the future holds, if these 6 company's don't double in the next 2 years then i'm a dutchman,

Through a lack of mobile signal usually in remote work locations, I have no idea what is happening on the London stock exchange, I can't wait to get home to see whats happened, its giving me a new hobby, something totally different from machines, mud, oil, and trees, its got to stage I would rather have a day off just looking at the live share prices flashing red and green on my laptop.

This is something I never saw myself doing previously, but times change.

This is something I know very little about, but would really like to know more about, how would you feel about starting a new thread on this very subject??

And giving some of us a bit of info on how to go about getting into it :001_smile:

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
