How about some Yankee iron? This is a 2030 John Deere probably made in 1975 or so, 60 HP 4 cylinder diesel. Will lift about 1500 pounds. I love the little blue track layer.

Quite a lot of you use the high crack i do myself. Dean what make of splitter is yours and what tonnage is it?:001_smile:

I used to use Hycrack but found it hard work so I got this one. It's a Thor 20 ton, bought it off Chris Shepherd, cracking splitter (excuse the pun) it has sped up log production quite a lot over the Hycrack

Yes them thor splitters look real good, but can you split large rings on them like you can a highcrack.:001_smile:

 

No problem David, I just take off the 4 way and the table so I just roll the ring up and lay it on the floor standing table, no lifting
