Reminds me of the Hitch-hikers guide where they talk about inter-stellar rich kids buying a craft the buzzing some isolated area on a 'backwards' planet to bemuse the locals!

 

They never appear where loads of people can see them?

HAving siad that none of us can say for sure.

 

Steven Hawking recently suggested that we stop sending out communications and just sit tight. If there are other races out there with the technology to travel the mind-blowing distances around the universe - do we want them here?

Throughout history the technically advanced visitors have clonised/plundered/destroyed the lands they have found. they might be after our water, air, unattended chainsaws..

Beware visitors wearing tinfoil - and inetr-stellar caravan dwellers.

Lets not kid ourselves.....If we had the ability to travel to distant planets you only have to look back in history to see that the likely outcome would be for us to enslave the populace and take the resources we needed. Space travel is expensive, and I very much doubt any advanced civilisations would travel all the way to us(a less advanced civilization) without wanting to capitalize on it.

 

With that in mind, I personally believe all the UFO sitings are made up/figment of peoples imaginations....but do I believe theres other life out there? most definately

At around the same time, give or take a few years, that I saw my ghost, I also saw something strange in the sky.

 

Of course, it was the 80's, the time of magic mushrooms as previously pointed out, but as I could not identify a magic mushroom from a deadly mushroom, that was not the cause of the sighting.

 

It was more likely to be the scrumpy, but as it was the afternoon of a work day, I doubt it.

 

I was driving the combine on the Mendip hills when an airplane caught my eye.

 

I thought it was just a plane at first, but it was odd because it slowed down and stopped in mid air, cool!

 

Then it turned on the spot until pointing straight up and then accelerated to an incredible speed, heading towards space.

 

I thought at the time may be something new and top secret, but as, 30 yrs later the secret has not been revealed, I wonder?
