You will certainly be better off talking about something that everyone will relate to. Fungi is a good one, but I think it will perplex more than 50% of the audience.

Restoration pruning and pruning for the trees benefit would be a good one, there's a lot of climber to like reductions, your going to appeal to more than 75% I would think with that topic alone.

If its in June, record a video and I'll watch it on that! I'll be gutted if I can't see it!

yeah and get myself into a whole heap of trouble!

The topping bit was a bit tongue in cheek.

You do have a passion for the P word though. How about linking it in with the traditional woodcrafts / woodland management of old.

You have plenty of pictures from BB.

this proves the fact that everything I do and talk about is not watertight or detailed enough by a long chalk.

I think i have a long way to go before I have enough of anything to be giving lectures on ANY subject!

If I spent as much time reading like I did BEFORE arbtalk I might have something worth doing!

Don't start undervaluing yourself. You are a unique arb with a great outlook on trees and ecology and you have been invited for that reason. If it is not all as solid as a rock then tell it as it is. You are part of the evolution of the industry. A true working arb that has learnt to respect trees and their ecology through being with them.

Mind you, I would say a prayer before doing it.
