How did you jam the gate open?

I use one of these

It has a back plate on it and doesn’t wander about I couldn’t thread it onto the belt so I replaced the rivet at the top with an “allen” screw. It can now be dismantled to get it onto the belt. It’s on it’s third harness.

I've just bought one of those (turned up today)I'll have to mod it like you say, will have a go tomorrow if I get a chance.

Think I will also remove the spring lock thingy.

if you over load a krab IE very heavy weights or use it for towing the gate spring will want to stay in that position....or it will snap!

it can still be screwed up in to a locking position though other wise it would be a pain in the **** or dangerous in some applications

Try using it first. If you get a lanyard with a hook back ring you soon get the hang of grabbing the lanyard below the hook then opening the gate with your thumb.

The only way I can fault the hook is that occasionally a bit of wispy lime gets in it but it’s not the end of the world.
