PPI claim backs.

Whilst the first part of your post is correct Rupe, the second is not. PPI never had anything to do with PAYE (and if it did no one would have got paid if it was left to the Inland Revenue!).

 

If a customer was employed they contacted the insurance company who issued a claim form. This would be completed by the persons employer and doctor for sickness or DSS for unemployment. In the case of the self employed it would be completed by their doctor and accountant. Payment would then be made to refund the customer the amount of the loan payment and a continuation form issued for each month the customer was claiming for. No involvement with PAYE whatsoever. I know self employed customers I sold PPI to who did make successful claims and actually came back to thank me for explaining about the protection at the time.

Maybe it varies between providers, but when I had a business loan I didn't take PPI because when I checked it turned out that it didn't cover self-employed.

So after receiving my ppi offer letter on Saturday I phoned Lloyds this afternoon to see if i was reading the letter right and accept whatever thy wanted to give me.... And blow me, I checked my account this evening to find they've paid it in straight away!

Looks like they didn't want me to change my mind!

Oh, ok, my mistake. I was sure I read somewhere that claims needed to be supported by paye evidence or some such.
