Hello der, Were can I by a lorry load of softwood "cordwood" from in Ceredigion?

Is it true that the Forestry Commission will only sell you a minimum of three hundred tone? Bit to much for me at the minute! Also how much should I expect to pay per tone. I would take over sized stuff it would come in handy for the mill.

AFAIK th FC are no more, and have no timber sales either, but I could be wrong. I use euroforest for larch sawlog supplies, but UPM tilhill can supply too. I am sure there are others but they are the 2 biggies that can supply to cornwall. Its sold by the cubic metre not the tonne BTW.

Contact your local forest district manager. Or ring the WHAM office (Wales harvesting and management ) there based in Aberwrystwyth. Try the online sales section, sometimes they sell small standing parcels. I buy there surplus softwood under there firewood framework agreement.

I was quoted nearly double that for a softwood artic load. (£1200)

Is that price including VAT? Im looking into the price a load delivered too Anglesey & that sounds like a good price.

Were is best to buy from in North Wales? I suppose find somewhere as local as possible the key as haulage is a big chunk of the price.
