Buy a dog to live in the car! An angry terrier should do the trick.

Used to take the jump plug cable off my old escort, they may break the window to nick it but it wont go anywhere, and if you buy a gun, when you hear the little 5h1ts doing it you can blow parts of them off so they wont do it again!

Sorry your having to take extra precautions. Society is in a mess!!

I used a Disclock on my last Defender - very well made, totally encompasses the steering wheel and a very visual deterent. Downsides were I nearly went through the windscreen with it a few times when fitting/removing and it was a pain to store in the vehicle if you had a passenger.

You could try one of these hydraulic locks on your clutch system. MUDSTUFF.CO.UK, Meck Lock Anti Theft System, Land Rover Defender Solutions: West Yorkshire

What happens when they just drag the car away or drag it onto a recovery truck or trailer? All it does is isolate engine from gearbox so it can't be driven away?

At the moment it is pretty safe when parked at night. Always out of sight and blocked in by 1-3 cars depending who is about. It's more when parked up to go to the shops etc. that I'm worried about. The hydraulic lock is a good idea but bloody pricey, a TOAD for £90 or wahtever they are is a lot more doable
