Knot weed

might be worth a foliar application in year 1 then stem inject the regen depending on how dense the stand is. It will all be treated with a glyphosate based herbicide with aquatic approval due to the very close proximity to the watercourse, your local ag chemical dealers will be able to tell you which is ok to use.

your local SEPA office will be able to send you a copy of the form or send you a link to fill in an application online for the consent for the spraying but as mentioned you will need someone with a PA6AW ticket to gain the consent.

Is Tordon X ok next to water?

NOPE absolutly not there are also translocation issues if the knotweed is near mature trees it has been known to kill them as well

Tordon is a broad spectrum herbicide, it will kill everything broadleaved, thistles, brambles, docks, knotweed and it will kill them as its persistant for 2years. Its great for knotweed in areas with little other ecoloigical interest and is the quickest and cheapest method. However as mentioned you have to know what your doing with it due to the fact it will kill everything other than grass

This is all good information except I,d firstly go for a stem injection the first year and a foliar the second year as the second year regrowth we often be thinner and may not be broad enough to inject. Also as mentioned Tordon 22 is not for aquatic or river side use primarily because it is harmful to aquatic life, fish and plant life. It also has no label or off-label exception for aquatic use so it is illegal to use in this situation.

So stem injection with an approved glyphosate product all the way after you get someone with the pa6aw spraying ticket and have completed the correct environment agency paperwork. Job done:thumbup:
