Tachyon is 11.7mm. The larger diameter ropes are either half inch, (12.7mm) or 13mm. Different manufacturers ropes often handle differently despite being the same diameter on paper. I find Samson ropes often feel thinner than advertised, while Yale and New England tend to puff up a bit and feel chunkier in the hand.

Andy, I'm sorry your not getting on with it, as far as i know its 13mm and i used to use the ocean polyester 10mm with it. I did really like it when i was using it.

Thats ok mate, It certainly doesn't feel anything like 13mm, more like 11. It will get used though, even if it's not by me. I like something a bit meatier for my main rope. We have 2 welly's to deadwood next week so will have another go with it then.

The boss has recently bought a 40m sequoia rope from severnside safety, I quite like that tbh, nice feel in the hand and not too much stretch.
