Great input guys, thanks. It would be very easy to incorporate a small barrel screen so that all your small twigs under say 30mm were seperated out for kindling, and the rest went for logs.

Or, if you took the whole load back to your yard and ran it through a screen to get rid of the leaves etc, and then bag it.

It just really appeals to me turning all that waste into good firewood.

i dont remember anyone phoning me up for a truck load of kindling, unless you got alot of outlets to sell it by the bag then you'd be stuck with piles of it. if you have a truck full of small logs and kindling mixed together wouldnt it be a nightmare to sort out? what you need it two trucks one for kindling, one for logs. i like the idea but im struggling with how you do it efficiently on site?

im slightly confused, shouldnt this thread read "your opinions on new type of 'firewood processor'"?

sounds an interesting plan ed, where does the waste go? there'd be a lot i figure

Maybe it should be firewood processor / chipper...

By waste you mean all the leaf litter stuff? I would just compost it down the same as old chip and stumpgrindings.

Although in my case, I would throw the whole lot in my wood boiler.

Ed,

Be careful you dont fall into the marketing myopia trap, this is where you convince yourself you have great product and that everyone is going to want to use it, when in actual fact the demand is minimal.

Sir Clive Sinclair thought everyone would want to use a C5, he was suffering from chronic marketing myopia.
