Defender 90?

Used to drive the 90 as everyday vehicle until recently, came in handy more than once.

Now thats what i was on about Mike,how heavy is the Jo Beau roughly and what diameter would it chip? Do you just use ply to stop chip flying everwhere or the mesh sides that some of the Ifors have?

I have an l200 with a iw tt105 and hi mesh sides I chip into. It can hold a 5h1t load.

The Jo beau is about 120-150kg think it'll do about 3". I've got a little crane on the trailer now to lift it on and off. Yeah just use some ply sheets, wouldn't mind the mesh but it's not cheap.

Here's a pic of my old trailer it was 12' but got the 14' now and leave a space at the front of the trailer for the chipper.

Cheers Mike got me thinking that now good set up uv got-didn't reall fancy selling the old girl for a transit!

Thing is you either get a tow along and a tipper or something like my set up. As I didn't want the costs etc of another vehicle I did it this way. Plus you can carry more legally than a transit. Not sure I'd have this set up if I worked for myself fulltime as it can be a pain having 4" plus pieces that can't be chipped.

Yeah suppose thats the downside of not using a larger chipper but tbh id use anything over 3 inch for firewood as our stove at home does the heating too

Saw a 90 in Durham City on Thursday, with a very nice ally tipping chip box fitted.
