do not really understand the question but was fitted by a proper plumber and is protected against problems such as power failures

If it was fitted by a plumber it will almost certainly be an open system and will not require a pressure relief valve.

where else would you keep the logs we have a big wooden box next to our stove that usually lasts a week

Outside the back door under a leanto. We used to have log basket indoors but find when the wood warms up all manner of creepy crawlies would infest the living room. Have you ever had a wood spider crawl across the wife,s lap?:scared1::scared1::scared1:

If I ever want to heat a whole house with a log burner again, I will be looking into warm air circulation rather than a radiator system.

how much do you know about this subject then?

i have a customer who keeps asking me about thermal dynamics, should look into it really

I tried a few experiments in my house, the main problem is the volume of air you need to move to make it work. A natural convection system would work, but it would need big ducts, and a definite send and return system for hot and cool air.

I cut a hole in the floor above the logburner, and one on the opposite side of the room to allow cool air to re-circulate, but the size of the opening required made it a little impractical for most normal homes. The cat loved it though!

Getting the warm air across the house on the same level is more tricky. Warm air collects at the top of rooms, and gets trapped by the walls over doors. You can put in vents over the tops of doors of course, but I dont think they would be sufficient.

A system using a fan to push the air around the building would be the most effective I think, but it would obviously need building in.

I got one of those big fans you have by your bed in summer and put it ontop of a pair of steps blowing the hot air in the top of the room down through the doorhole into the hallway, worked well.
