Beat the throat of the splice with a mallet to soften up as you trying to bury it. Might take quite a few goes but doable.

Or

Are you having a problem with the core bunching up as it reenters the cover? I put a couple of stitches in the crossover to avoid this.

Ah right, your on the final bury?

If the worst comes to the worst, untie your alpine butterfly and milk a bit more cover up towards the eye, might just give you the bit you need to finish the bury, then when its finished you can milk the cover back from the eye to the end of the rope.

Also put a carabiner in the eye and shock load it. Then try milking it backwards, this can help removing a little of the bagginess that may of occurred. And continue "massaging" with the rubber mallet. A cold bottle of beer will help you cool your hands if there getting sore....

I tie mine to the toe hitch on my truck. Beat the crap out of it then get physical with a bina in the eye. Shock loading it like Drew mentioned. But I wrap a tea towel around the bina otherwise it feels like my fingers are about to snapp.

Not even that, actually reinserting the core into the rope (B to D according to NE instructions) using my wire fid, have a sling setup on the balcony railing with a carabiner to clip the fid to. It's getting the eye of the fid and the tapered core past the core remaining in the rope so tomorrow I'm going to adjust the angle of the taper and try again.

Done several DB so I know I can do it (Imori is a piece of cake though!), I'm just learning the nuances of tachyon for the first time. Is this a common experience for others??
