Cheers to our bosses!

Personally, I'm in a fully functioning marriage of 15 years. Neither of us would use the word `boss'.

On the initial post, did your boss buy this stuff for you or for himself? Ultimately the efficiency of the company has a direct result on the location of his next holiday surely? Sorry to be so cynical in the face of so much brown nosing, sorry praise.:001_smile:

It is very clear that YOU are an employee!

Congratulations on the Goods Vehicle test.

Did you have to sign a training agreement?

nope!

when i signed up i asked about training agreements, she told me theyd like to expect to get their moneys worth, but at the end of the day, if i wasnt happy, they wouldnt want to force me to stay.

fair enough really, good job theyre a good company, theyre gonna get their moneys worth!

Sounds like a nice symbiotic relationship!

How it should be, but it ALWAYS takes two to tango.

I think the very fact that you started this thread shows you have a great attitude to wards your boss, they can see that and are reciprocating!

do you get out of the wrong side of bed everyday jason?! or do i just not get your sence of humour?!

having worked for not so good bosses, its nice to have a decent one.

we all like it when they pat us on the back and say well done, so why shouldnt we thank them?

I'm both, and neither. But really i think it's unrealistic to suggest an employers priority is not to his profit. profit for him to spend. I am good friends with my employer and he's a good man. But neither of us are under any delusion that he's running a charity. Any new kit is great, but the only viable reason for new kit is to primarily increase profit. I think this is actually ok. Not complaining about that situation, that's business. But i think it damaging to thank people for the symptoms of selfish acts even when they seem altruistic. I think a healthy symbiotic relationship between employer and employee is normal, a default setting if you like. Anything less should be complained about and anything more requires thanks.

It's the sense of humour thing. I sleep in a hammock. To avoid wrong sides I levitate virtically.

I think is a little simplistic.

Yes the "selfish gene" and all that.....

But as an employer I also got satisfaction from having employees that felt appreciated and an important part of a team, I am not saying this is totally altruistic, but if is a far cry from being a profit hungry slave driver.

Unfortunately I encountered more staff like you, who treated me as if they were doing me a favor by coming in, than staff like Josh who clearly sees it as a two way street.

Thats the reason I scaled my business down, as you say firms are not profit share or LOSS SHARE, so the employer is taking risks and has to work very long and very hard at the start of the business.

If being a boss was so much better than an employer, we would all be bosses.

Er, did you read my last post about how i get on with my boss etc. I said what I mean and mean what I say. dont add or take away from that. Scuse me for simplicity, but I'm quite simple myself. The above quote of yours is unfair, as it does not represent my point of view. at all. I'm a two way street man too.:001_smile:
