Tautline, Shannon, Prussik are other split tailed knots i know off probably more out there.

 

cant find a pick of a shannon? never climbed on a tautline, any good?

I was told that they are the basics and if you can tie them you can work a tree. every other knot is just refining and improving the system.

when the proverbial hits the fan and someone leaves everything (hitch cords etc )in the ayrd apart from one climbing line it means you can still get on with the job. i'm talking from experience
