hello all,

after much thought on building/buying a log grab and about 3 years later and a few quotes, i decided this was the best all round solution and value, a digbits hardox grab i was surprised how well it's built, but most of all how useful it is, here's a few pics, id be intrested in ur comments/thoughts.

NICE one, i brought exactly the same one for my mini, as you say very well built but i personally feel they could have made the tines a bit longer to make it better for brash/ bigger logs etc, Im thinking of having some extensions lazer cut and then welding them to the existing hardox ones to give an extra 6 inches or so in lenght

oh and keep an eye on the bushes that connect the two halves of the grab, one of mine came lose and actually fell out second time i used it, had to weld it back in place. Luckily I caught it falling out, Aside from that tho, I am very impressed with the quality of it, should last for ever!

ive been using it for the last few days, saves hours, i know what you mean about the tines being a bit longer i think if it they had solely built it for timber use they would be but as its an all round grab it works well, i think if the ended of the tine were jagged it might grip some bigger logs better, i do plan to put a ball hitch on the blade to pull a atv log trailer (once built)

yea its plated at 2.7 ton, the trouble is the old navara clutch dosn't like it its abit heavy really, but its what came along at the right £££

i got one about 3 years ago great bit of kit. Got mine from a firm called ABILJO longer tines than that one great for brash clearing log stacking and if you use a long railway sleeper great for leveling ground, hardcore etc

these grabs are usually pretty low quality with no bushes in the moving parts the grease nipples usually need a shroud welded round about them to stop them gettin knocked off and they fracture where the tynes are welded onto the tube also the backstay tryes to punch its way thru the back wall and they cause stresses on the dipper as it tries to bend the dipper to get a decent grip off anything
