I had a “dabble” at kilning a while back. I made one using an insulated van body and a combination of axial fan or industrial de humidifier depending on ambient air moisture. It was reasonably effective for small scale work, if a little labour intensive.

The basic principal is air in at one end and out at the other. On dry days I just ran the fan and on damp days I used the de humidifier or let the air circulate naturally.
