Self-Employed or Contractual

Self employment is the only way forward imo. Yes you can work full time for a company and get a regular wage but you are not able to do what you want, you have to say yes sir right away sir instead of picking and choosing your next move. Being self employed also gives you the opportunity to work with different people all the time and be different places. The down side is you dont have a guarantee that you will have work every day BUT thats something that only you yourself can change, if your good then people will notice and call you more often. If you work hard, safely and do a good job then the work will come to you in the end but its not an easy road.

Yeh i do like the element of what you say goes and your in charge really. The only problem is as yehs say yeh can come unstuck sometimes for work but its the gamble am willing to take to help me get out there and travel the country and then hopefully the world but lets take it one step at a time for world domination.

Thanks i cant wait to get started really made up with the oppurtunity just got to start building up my equipment now. Went down to fill me self assessment form today and then just going to start work tomorrow so hope all goes well.

As johnnyboy says, get yourself a backup. I work primarily as a chippy on buildings now, but i am so gratefull i took my hgv 2 years ago. Saved my neck more than once in current climate.

My only problem with being self employed is I get worried when the phone stops ringing. I hate January and have often considered packing it in at this time of year, only to be glad I didn't when Spring comes around.
